My Skincare Collection

As most of my friends and family know - I'm a bit of a skincare addict. So, I thought it might be interesting to show you my entire skincare collection. This is after a recent clear out so I can honestly say that I use all of these products interchangeably.  I keep my products in this rotating plastic organiser that my boyfriend bought me for my birthday. Anyone who's into skincare or makeup NEEDS one of these organisers. It is the best thing ever, I love spinning it round each morning as I decide which cleanser to use😂 Click here for a link to one on amazon. Keep reading if you want to see what products I keep in my stash. I have broken them down into categories and listed my favourite 3 products from each category.  Cleansers 1-  The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter  - I haven't found anything that's able to remove my makeup as well as this, plus it lasts for months, you can't go wrong. You simply rub it into your dry skin and watch it melt away all your make...

Little Staycation in York | Travel

Due to lockdown, we’ve all been cooped up at home and unable to travel for months. Now that we're allowed to travel again, my boyfriend Zak and I jumped at the chance to get away for a few days.

In this post, I will talk you through our few days in York and show you an insight into what the city has to offer!

We stayed in The York Aparthotel which was slightly out of the city centre, but still only a 10 minute walk to nearby bars and restaurants. The location was very easy to find and had parking right outside.  It was an affordable stay with lots of space, including a kitchen and living area downstairs.

On our first day there were clear skies and sunshine, so we wandered around the cobbled streets and visited the Minster. We have been to York before so we refrained from booking any typical 'touristy' things such as going inside the Minster or museum tours. Mostly, we walked around the medieval city enjoying the quirky buildings and quaint streets.

A trip to York wouldn't be complete without a visit to The York Minster and The Shambles. The Minster is a crucial landmark of York, it’s a beautiful Gothic cathedral in the heart of the city. Ordinarily, you are allowed to climb to the top of the tower which would grant some spectacular views but unfortunately social distancing doesn't allow for that at the moment. Nonetheless, it is a magnificent cathedral with surrounding gardens where we enjoyed an ice cream in the sun.

Walking down The Shambles is like being in Diagon Alley, especially with all of the wizard shops to visit! Although be prepared to queue as they are very popular!

We stopped for lunch at All Bar One, I had smashed avocado and feta on an open ciabatta and it was delicious! Then we spent the rest of the afternoon exploring York's spider web of narrow streets and visiting the many Christmas shops that were open (yes, even in August!).
Later that evening we enjoyed a delicious meal and cocktails at Revolution, they have a great restaurant on the river front with lots of cocktails in their 241 offer!

Day 2 was a wet and gloomy day, but we still made the most of it! We were in and out of shops trying to keep dry and we had a late breakfast at a nearby pub. Later that evening we went out for dinner at Turtle Bay where they also did 241 cocktails! The food was amazing, but very spicy! Then after that we went to The Ivy for a few drinks to round off our time in York!

All in all, we had a fantastic time and I would definitely recommend a visit to York if you haven’t been before!

If you would like anymore info on where we stayed or how we got there etc, just drop me a message or leave a comment and I’ll be happy to help!

Thank you for reading!
